When Haley and Bruce met as students at Texas A&M they probably never imagined that they would one day be doing engagement photos in Colorado. In the snow. In July.
As I pulled up to our meeting spot on Grand Mesa it was a beautiful summer night. I was walking around checking out the scenery when I suddenly started getting pelted with hail. I watched the campers and people playing in the lake in front of me race to their cars and take off down the mountain while I went to grab my trusty clear umbrella.
Soon after, Haley and Bruce arrived looking amazing for their photos. We discovered as soon as they got out of the car that there was no way to avoid turning into a soggy mess, but they were brave and went with it! Haley's curls quickly got soaked, and every time she touched Bruce with her ice cold hands he got shivers, but they stuck with it through the end. We had to take a few breaks to thaw out and squeegee my camera lens, but the photos were magical and sweet and extra intimate because they couldn't move from their tiny space under the umbrella. I love how their love shined through the clouds and rain and turned into such beautiful and memorable images.
